  3. 1 cup heavy cream: Whipped with 2 tbsp powdered sugar for sweet, fluffy filling.
  4. 2 tbsp powdered sugar: For sweetening the whipped cream.
  5. 1 cup fresh strawberries: Thinly sliced for a fruity layer.
  6. Powdered sugar: For dusting as garnish.
  7. Chocolate sauce: For drizzling on top.

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  • Prepare the Puff Pastry:
    • Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
    • Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to create as many hearts as possible.
    • Transfer the hearts to the prepared tray and brush the tops lightly with the beaten egg.
  • Bake the Pastry Hearts:
    • Bake for 9–10 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
    • Remove from the oven and let cool completely.
  • Assemble the Hearts:
    • Slice each heart in half horizontally using a serrated knife.
    • Pipe a layer of whipped cream onto the base of each heart.
    • Add a layer of sliced strawberries, followed by another layer of whipped cream.
    • Place the top half of the heart back on to form a sandwich.
  • Garnish:
    • Lightly dust the assembled hearts with powdered sugar.
    • Drizzle chocolate sauce over the top for a finishing touch.
  • Serve:
    • Serve immediately for the freshest and flakiest texture.
