Description

These Slow Cooker Lipton Onion Potatoes are the perfect side dish—creamy, savory, and bursting with flavor! Tender potatoes seasoned with Lipton Onion Soup mix and melted butter make for a simple yet delicious meal

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 6 large potatoes, thinly sliced (peel if desired)
  2. 1 packet Lipton Onion Soup mix
  3. 1/3 cup butter, melted
  4. 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional, but highly recommended!)
  5. 1/2 cup chicken broth or water
  6. Salt and pepper, to taste
  7. Cooking spray or butter, for greasing

Instructions

  • Prep Your Slow Cooker: Grease the inside of your slow cooker generously with cooking spray or butter to prevent sticking.
  • Prepare Potatoes: Wash and peel potatoes (if preferred), then slice them thinly and evenly for consistent cooking.
  • Season the Potatoes: In a large bowl, toss the potato slices with melted butter. Add the Lipton Onion Soup mix and mix thoroughly. For extra indulgence, stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Layer & Add Liquid: Layer the seasoned potatoes into the slow cooker. Pour chicken broth or water evenly over the top to help steam and flavor the dish.
  • Cook to Perfection:
    • Low setting: 5–6 hours
    • High setting: 2–3 hours Adjust the cooking time depending on your slow cooker and the thickness of your potato slices.
  • Finish & Serve: Once the potatoes are fork-tender, taste and adjust with salt and pepper if needed. Serve hot and enjoy

Notes

  • Add Bacon Bits: Sprinkle cooked, crumbled bacon for an extra savory kick.
  • Herbaceous Boost: Toss in fresh parsley or chives before serving for a pop of freshness.
  • Crispier Finish: Transfer the dish to a baking dish and broil for a few minutes if you prefer a crispier topping.
