Ingredients

For the Pavlova:
• 4 large egg whites
• 1 cup granulated sugar

• Pinch of salt

    • 1 cup heavy cream
    • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
    • 1 cup mixed berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Pavlova:
    ◦ Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    ◦ Draw two heart shapes (about 6 inches each) on the parchment paper, then flip the paper over.
    ◦ Whisk the egg whites with a pinch of salt until soft peaks form.
    ◦ Gradually add granulated sugar, whisking until stiff, glossy peaks form.
    ◦ Gently fold in vanilla extract, white vinegar, and cornstarch.
    ◦ Spoon the meringue mixture onto the heart shapes on the parchment paper, smoothing it evenly.
    ◦ Bake for 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes until the outside is crisp and golden but the inside is soft and marshmallowy.
    ◦ Turn off the oven and allow the pavlova to cool completely with the oven door slightly ajar.
  • Prepare the Whipped Cream:
    ◦ In a chilled bowl, beat the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  • Assemble the Pavlova:
    ◦ Once the pavlova is fully cooled, transfer it to a serving platter.
    ◦ Spoon the whipped cream on top of the meringue base.
    ◦ Arrange the mixed berries on top of the whipped cream.
  • Serve:
    ◦ Serve the Heart-Shaped Pavlova immediately and enjoy this delightful dessert!
