Ingredients

Scale
  1. 1 lb ground beef
  2. 2 lbs potatoes, peeled and cubed
  3. 1 medium onion, chopped
  4. 2 cups beef broth
  5. 2 cloves garlic, minced
  6. 1/2 cup milk
  7. 1/4 cup butter
  8. Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Boil and Mash Potatoes:
Boil the cubed potatoes in a pot of salted water for about 15 minutes or until tender. Drain and mash with milk, butter, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Set aside.
  • Brown Ground Beef:
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  • Add Onions and Garlic:
Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the beef. Cook for 2-3 minutes until softened and fragrant.
  • Make the Gravy:
Stir in 2 tablespoons of flour to thicken the mixture. Gradually pour in the beef broth, stirring constantly. Add Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until the gravy thickens.
  • Serve:
Spoon the savory ground beef and gravy over the mashed potatoes. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • If you prefer a thicker gravy, add a little more flour to the beef mixture.
  • For extra flavor, you can add some fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary to the gravy.
  • You can make the mashed potatoes ahead of time and reheat them before serving.
