Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 lbs potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Boil and Mash Potatoes:
Boil the cubed potatoes in a pot of salted water for about 15 minutes or until tender. Drain and mash with milk, butter, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Set aside. - Brown Ground Beef:
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat. - Add Onions and Garlic:
Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the beef. Cook for 2-3 minutes until softened and fragrant. - Make the Gravy:
Stir in 2 tablespoons of flour to thicken the mixture. Gradually pour in the beef broth, stirring constantly. Add Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until the gravy thickens. - Serve:
Spoon the savory ground beef and gravy over the mashed potatoes. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- If you prefer a thicker gravy, add a little more flour to the beef mixture.
- For extra flavor, you can add some fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary to the gravy.
- You can make the mashed potatoes ahead of time and reheat them before serving.
