Ingredients
Scale
1 lb ground beef
2 lbs potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cups beef broth
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup butter
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Boil and Mash Potatoes:
Boil the cubed potatoes in a pot of salted water for about 15 minutes or until tender. Drain and mash with milk, butter, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Set aside.
Brown Ground Beef:
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
Add Onions and Garlic:
Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the beef. Cook for 2-3 minutes until softened and fragrant.
Make the Gravy:
Stir in 2 tablespoons of flour to thicken the mixture. Gradually pour in the beef broth, stirring constantly. Add Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until the gravy thickens.
Serve:
Spoon the savory ground beef and gravy over the mashed potatoes. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
If you prefer a thicker gravy, add a little more flour to the beef mixture.
For extra flavor, you can add some fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary to the gravy.
You can make the mashed potatoes ahead of time and reheat them before serving.
