Ingredients

Scale
  1. 23 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
  2. 2 packets chicken gravy mix
  3. 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of chicken soup
  4. 1 ½ cups water
  5. ½ cup sour cream
  6. Black pepper and garlic powder, to taste
  7. Mashed potatoes, rice, or pasta, for serving

Instructions

  • Season the chicken breasts with black pepper and garlic powder.
  • In the crockpot, whisk together the water, cream of chicken soup, and chicken gravy mix.
  • Add the chicken to the crockpot and coat it with the gravy mixture.
  • Cover and cook on LOW for 6-8 hours until the chicken is tender and shreds easily.
  • Shred the chicken using two forks, then stir in the sour cream.
  • Let it warm for 15 minutes before serving.

  • Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or pasta and enjoy.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use chicken broth instead of water.
  • This recipe can also be made with bone-in chicken, though cooking time may need to be adjusted.
  • If you want a thicker gravy, you can reduce the amount of water or add a little cornstarch slurry.

  • This recipe can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
