- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/2 cup dry white wine
- 4 cups vegetable broth
- 1 can (14.5 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 pound lump crab meat
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Sauté Vegetables: Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, cooking until softened.
- Add Flavorings: Stir in oregano and red pepper flakes, cooking for an additional minute to release their flavors.
- Deglaze: Pour in the white wine, scraping the bottom of the pot to release any browned bits.
- Add Broth and Tomatoes: Add vegetable broth and crushed tomatoes. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
- Add Seafood: Stir in shrimp and crab meat. Simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until the seafood is cooked through.
- Add Cream: Stir in heavy cream and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until heated through.
- Season and Serve: Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot with crusty bread

- Adjust the red pepper flakes to your spice preference.
- This bisque can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
- For extra richness, you can add more heavy cream or use half-and-half.
