This Crazy Crust Pie is an easy, delicious dessert with a unique twist! The buttery, thick batter forms its own crust while baking, making it a breeze to prepare. Topped with your favorite fruit pie filling and a sprinkle of cinnamon-sugar, it’s the perfect dessert for any occasion!

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 1 cup all-purpose flour
  2. ½ cup sugar
  3. 1 teaspoon baking powder
  4. ¼ teaspoon salt
  5. ¼ cup butter, melted
  6. ½ cup milk
  7. 1 egg
  8. 1 can (21 oz) fruit pie filling (cherry, apple, or blueberry)
  9. 1 teaspoon cinnamon-sugar mixture

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9-inch pie plate.
  • Mix the dry ingredients: In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add wet ingredients: Stir in melted butter, milk, and egg until just combined. The batter will be thick and sticky.
  • Form the crust: Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pie plate, ensuring the batter covers the sides to form a crust.
  • Add fruit filling: Spoon the fruit pie filling onto the batter, leaving about a 1-inch border around the edges.
  • Sprinkle cinnamon-sugar: Sprinkle the top with cinnamon-sugar for added flavor.
  • Bake: Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the crust is golden and baked through.

  • Cool & Serve: Let the pie cool for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature!

Notes

  • You can use any fruit pie filling such as cherry, apple, or blueberry depending on your preference.
  • If you want a more decadent pie, you can add a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream on top.
  • This pie is best served the same day, but it can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.

  • For a bit of extra flavor, consider adding a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the batter.
