Description

Wholesome Cabbage Beef Bake is a hearty, comforting dish with ground beef, cabbage, tomatoes, rice, and melted cheddar cheese, baked together to create a satisfying, family-friendly meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 small head of cabbage, shredded
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 cup cooked white rice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add the chopped onion to the skillet and sauté until softened, about 3–4 minutes.
  4. Stir in the shredded cabbage, diced tomatoes (with their juice), cooked rice, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and beef broth. Cook for 5–7 minutes, until the cabbage begins to soften.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a dash of hot sauce or Worcestershire sauce to the beef mixture.
  • If you prefer a lower-fat version, you can use lean ground beef or ground turkey.
  • This dish pairs nicely with a side of garlic bread or a green salad.
