Ingredients

Scale
  1. 1 ½ lbs ground beef
  2. 1 cup onion, chopped
  3. 3 oz cream cheese
  4. 1 packet taco seasoning
  5. 1 can green chilis
  6. 23 cups Fritos corn chips
  7. 1 cup shredded taco blend cheese
  8. 1 Roma tomato, chopped
  9. 12 cups shredded lettuce
  10. Salsa and sour cream for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cook the ground beef and chopped onion in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat until the beef is browned and the onions are softened.
  • Add the taco seasoning, green chilis, and cream cheese to the skillet. Stir and sauté until the cream cheese is fully melted and combined with the beef mixture.
  • Top the beef mixture with Fritos corn chips and shredded taco blend cheese.
  • Place the skillet in the oven and bake for 20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven and top with shredded lettuce and chopped tomato.

  • Garnish with salsa and sour cream before serving.

Notes

  • You can use ground turkey or chicken as a leaner alternative to ground beef.
  • For added flavor, try using spicy taco seasoning or adding some jalapeños.
  • This dish can be made in advance and stored in the fridge for up to 2 days, just reheat before serving.

  • If you don’t have an oven-safe skillet, you can transfer everything to a baking dish after the beef mixture is cooked.
