Description

This Mexican Restaurant Style White Queso Dip is a creamy, flavorful cheese dip made with white American cheese, green chiles, and a hint of spice. Perfect for game days, parties, or anytime you’re craving that restaurant-style queso at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound white, deli-sliced American cheese
  • 2/3 cup of milk or half-and-half
  • 34 tablespoons of canned, chopped green chiles or jalapeños
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chipotle powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. If using a slow cooker, set it to the lowest heat setting.
  2. Add the cheese, milk, green chiles, cumin, and chipotle powder (if using).
  3. Stir occasionally until the cheese is melted and the dip is smooth and creamy.
  4. If using a double boiler, heat the milk, green chiles, and spices over simmering water.
  5. Gradually add the American cheese, 1-2 slices at a time, stirring until fully melted and blended.
  6. Keep warm and serve with tortilla chips or veggies.

Notes

  • For a spicier dip, add more jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce.
  • Use freshly sliced American cheese from the deli for the best texture.
  • Can be kept warm in a slow cooker during parties or events.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat gently.
