Description

These Valentine’s Day Puff Pastry Hearts are the ultimate romantic treat! Flaky puff pastry is filled with a smooth chocolate-cream cheese filling and topped with fresh raspberries. Finished off with a dusting of powdered sugar and a drizzle of chocolate sauce, they’re perfect for a sweet Valentine’s celebration.

Ingredients

Scale
  1. For the Puff Pastry Hearts:
    1. 1 sheet puff pastry
    2. 2 tbsp chocolate spread (heaped)
    3. 2 tbsp cream cheese
    4. Fresh raspberries (for garnish)
    5. Powdered sugar (optional)
    6. Heart-shaped sprinkles (optional)
    7. Chocolate sauce (for drizzling)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Puff Pastry:
    • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
    • Unroll the puff pastry onto a lightly floured surface.
    • Using a large heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut out heart shapes from the puff pastry.
    • Place the heart-shaped puff pastry pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
    • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown on top.
  • Prepare the Chocolate Filling:
    • In a small bowl, mix together the chocolate spread and cream cheese until smooth and well combined.
    • Transfer the chocolate mixture to a piping bag for easy filling.
  • Assemble the Puff Pastry Hearts:
    • Once the puff pastry hearts are cool enough to handle, carefully cut each heart in half horizontally.
    • Pipe the chocolate filling generously onto the bottom half of each heart.
    • Place fresh raspberries on top of the chocolate mixture.
  • Garnish and Serve:
    • Place the top half of each heart on top of the filling, creating a sandwich.
    • Optionally, dust with powdered sugar and sprinkle with heart-shaped sprinkles for a festive touch.
    • Drizzle with chocolate sauce for extra indulgence.
  • Serve:
    • Serve your Valentine’s Day Puff Pastry Hearts immediately and enjoy this sweet, romantic treat!

Notes

  • The puff pastry hearts can be stored in an airtight container for 1-2 days, but are best enjoyed fresh for maximum flakiness.
  • You can use any type of chocolate spread you prefer, such as Nutella, for a different flavor.
