- Prepare the Dough:

- In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients and mix until a smooth dough forms.
- Roll & Cut:
- Divide dough into two discs, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30-60 minutes until firm.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out dough to ¼-inch thickness.
- Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out cookies, placing them about 1 inch apart on the prepared baking sheets.
- Bake the Cookies:
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until edges are set but centers are slightly soft.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Decorate (Optional):
- Once cooled, decorate with icing or royal icing, and top with heart-shaped sprinkles for a festive Valentine’s touch!
Notes
- For an extra festive touch, use red or pink colored icing.
- The dough can be refrigerated overnight for easier handling.
