Description

These delightful Orange Cookies are packed with fresh orange zest, sweet white chocolate chips, and a touch of orange preserves in the center. Perfect for any occasion, they’re soft, flavorful, and a fun twist on traditional cookies!

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  2. ½ teaspoon baking powder
  3. ½ teaspoon baking soda
  4. ¼ teaspoon salt
  5. ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  6. ½ cup granulated sugar
  7. ¼ cup light brown sugar, packed
  8. 1 large egg
  9. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  10. ½ teaspoon orange extract
  11. 1 tablespoon orange zest
  12. ½ cup white chocolate chips
  13. ½ cup orange preserves or jam

Instructions

  • Prepare the Oven and Baking Sheet: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  • Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set the dry mixture aside.
  • Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar using a hand mixer or stand mixer. Beat until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 2–3 minutes.
  • Add Wet Ingredients: Mix in the egg, vanilla extract, orange extract, and orange zest. Continue beating until well combined.
  • Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix the dough.
  • Add White Chocolate Chips: Fold in the white chocolate chips gently to distribute them evenly throughout the dough.
  • Form and Fill Cookies: Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie. Use the back of a spoon to make a small indentation in the center of each cookie. Fill each indentation with a small amount of orange preserves.
  • Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are slightly golden.
  • Cool Completely: Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes. Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.

Notes

  • For extra orange flavor, you can add more orange zest to the dough.
  • You can use dark or milk chocolate chips if you prefer a different flavor.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
  • If the orange preserves are too thick, warm them slightly before using for easier filling.
