Description

This Mongolian Ground Beef Noodles recipe is a delicious and flavorful dish that combines savory ground beef with sweet and tangy sauces. It’s quick, easy, and perfect for busy weeknight dinners! Top with green onions, sesame seeds, and a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for a little heat.

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 1 lb ground beef
  2. 8 oz noodles (lo mein or spaghetti)
  3. 1/4 cup soy sauce
  4. 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  5. 2 tbsp brown sugar
  6. 1 tsp ginger, minced
  7. 3 cloves garlic, minced
  8. 1 tbsp sesame oil
  9. 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  10. 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  11. Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  • Cook the noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  • Add the minced garlic and ginger to the beef and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Stir in the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and brown sugar. Simmer for 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Toss the cooked noodles into the skillet, coating them in the beef and sauce mixture.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions, red pepper flakes (if using), and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

  • You can adjust the sweetness of the dish by adding more or less brown sugar.
  • If you prefer a spicy kick, feel free to increase the red pepper flakes or add a dash of chili sauce.
  • For a lighter version, you can use lean ground beef or substitute with ground turkey.
