Ingredients
Scale
-
For the Roll-Ups:
- 8 slices of white bread (crusts removed, preferably thick)
- 2 cans (8 oz each) cinnamon roll dough with icing
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup butter (for frying)
-
For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
-
For the Icing:
- The icing that comes with the cinnamon roll dough (or make your own)
Instructions
-
Prepare the Cinnamon Roll Dough:
- Open the cinnamon roll dough cans and unroll each cinnamon roll. Roll each piece of dough into a tight log.
- Using a rolling pin, flatten each dough piece slightly to increase the surface area.
- Cut each flattened roll into 3-4 smaller pieces, creating bite-sized cinnamon roll segments.
-
Make the Egg Wash:
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon. Set aside.
-
Prepare the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:
- In another shallow bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Stir to mix well.
-
Assemble the Roll-Ups:
- Dip each cinnamon roll piece into the egg wash, making sure it’s coated on all sides.
- Carefully fry the cinnamon roll piece in a pan with butter over medium heat. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Once fried, immediately toss the roll-up in the cinnamon sugar mixture, ensuring it’s coated evenly.
-
Drizzle with Icing:
- After all the roll-ups are fried and coated, drizzle the included cinnamon roll icing (or homemade icing) over the top for extra sweetness.
-
Serve and Enjoy!
- Plate your Cinnamon Roll French Toast Roll-Ups and serve hot. Enjoy the crispy outside and gooey cinnamon center! Garnish with a sprinkle of powdered sugar, fresh fruit, or even a dollop of whipped cream for an extra indulgent touch.
Notes
- You can use store-bought cinnamon roll dough, or make your own cinnamon rolls from scratch if you prefer.
- For added flavor, top with fresh berries or whipped cream for a decadent treat.
- If you prefer less sweetness, use less cinnamon sugar.
