Description

These Cinnamon Roll French Toast Roll-Ups are a sweet, indulgent breakfast treat that combines the crispy exterior of French toast with a gooey, cinnamon-sugar filling. Perfect for a family breakfast or special occasion!

Ingredients

Scale
  1. For the Roll-Ups:

    • 8 slices of white bread (crusts removed, preferably thick)
    • 2 cans (8 oz each) cinnamon roll dough with icing
    • 3 large eggs
    • 1/2 cup milk
    • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 1/4 cup butter (for frying)
  2. For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:

    • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
    • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  3. For the Icing:

    1. The icing that comes with the cinnamon roll dough (or make your own)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Cinnamon Roll Dough:

    • Open the cinnamon roll dough cans and unroll each cinnamon roll. Roll each piece of dough into a tight log.
    • Using a rolling pin, flatten each dough piece slightly to increase the surface area.
    • Cut each flattened roll into 3-4 smaller pieces, creating bite-sized cinnamon roll segments.
  • Make the Egg Wash:

    • In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon. Set aside.
  • Prepare the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:

    • In another shallow bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Stir to mix well.
  • Assemble the Roll-Ups:

    • Dip each cinnamon roll piece into the egg wash, making sure it’s coated on all sides.
    • Carefully fry the cinnamon roll piece in a pan with butter over medium heat. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
    • Once fried, immediately toss the roll-up in the cinnamon sugar mixture, ensuring it’s coated evenly.
  • Drizzle with Icing:

    • After all the roll-ups are fried and coated, drizzle the included cinnamon roll icing (or homemade icing) over the top for extra sweetness.

  • Serve and Enjoy!

    • Plate your Cinnamon Roll French Toast Roll-Ups and serve hot. Enjoy the crispy outside and gooey cinnamon center! Garnish with a sprinkle of powdered sugar, fresh fruit, or even a dollop of whipped cream for an extra indulgent touch.

Notes

  • You can use store-bought cinnamon roll dough, or make your own cinnamon rolls from scratch if you prefer.
  • For added flavor, top with fresh berries or whipped cream for a decadent treat.

  • If you prefer less sweetness, use less cinnamon sugar.
