Ingredients

Scale
  1. Base:

    • 1.5 pounds lean ground beef
    • 1 yellow onion, diced
    • 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
  2. Sauce:

    • 10.5 ounces condensed cheddar soup
    • 10.5 ounces condensed cream of mushroom soup
    • 1/2 cup milk
    • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  3. Biscuit Topping:

    1. 1 box Cheddar Bay Biscuit mix
    2. 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
    3. 2 cups milk
    4. 1/4 cup butter, melted
    5. Fresh chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Cook the Ground Beef: In a skillet, cook the ground beef with the diced onion and chopped garlic until the beef is browned.
  • Prepare the Sauce: Add the cheddar soup, cream of mushroom soup, milk, and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese to the cooked beef. Stir until everything is well combined.
  • Transfer to a Baking Dish: Pour the beef mixture into a 9×13 baking dish and top with the remaining 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Make the Biscuit Topping: In a bowl, combine the Cheddar Bay Biscuit mix, shredded cheddar cheese, and milk. Stir until smooth, then pour the mixture over the beef mixture.
  • Bake: Place in the oven and bake at 350°F for 50-55 minutes, or until the biscuit topping is golden brown and fully cooked through.

  • Finish and Garnish: Brush the finished cobbler with melted butter and sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley. Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Make sure the beef mixture is spread evenly in the baking dish for consistent cooking.
  • You can use ground turkey or chicken if you prefer a lighter option.

  • For extra flavor, consider adding some hot sauce or chili flakes to the beef mixture.
