This creamy, dreamy banana pudding is an absolute showstopper! Layers of vanilla wafers, ripe bananas, and a rich, velvety pudding mixture make for the perfect dessert to serve at any gathering. Quick, easy, and loved by all!

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 11 oz box Vanilla Wafers
  2. 4 to 6 bananas, sliced
  3. 2 cups milk
  4. 1 (5 oz) box Instant French Vanilla pudding
  5. 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, at room temperature
  6. 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  7. 1 (12 oz) container frozen whipped topping, thawed (or equal amount of sweetened whipped cream)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Dish:
To the bottom of a 9×13 dish, evenly layer half of the vanilla wafers. Top with sliced bananas (about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thickness).
  • Make the Pudding Mix:
In a medium bowl, use a hand mixer to combine 2 cups of milk with the instant French vanilla pudding mix. Mix until smooth and thickened.
  • Prepare the Cream Cheese Mixture:
In a large bowl, use the hand mixer to blend the cream cheese and sweetened condensed milk until smooth. Once smooth, gently fold in the thawed whipped topping (or sweetened whipped cream) using a rubber spatula.
  • Combine the Mixtures:
Gently fold the pudding mixture into the cream cheese mixture until well incorporated.
  • Assemble the Dessert:
Pour the pudding mixture over the vanilla wafers and bananas. Spread the mixture evenly. Top with the remaining vanilla wafers.
  • Chill:
Refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or longer) before serving to let the flavors meld together.

Notes

  • You can make this banana pudding a day ahead for the best results. It lets the flavors blend together more, and the wafers soften nicely.
  • If you prefer, you can use homemade whipped cream instead of store-bought whipped topping.
