Ingredients

Scale
  1. 11.25 ounces Texas Toast Garlic (8 slices) – A flavorful and crispy base for your sloppy joe.
  2. 2 lbs Ground Beef (80/20) – The hearty meat for the savory sloppy joe filling.
  3. 1.31 ounces Sloppy Joe Mix Packet (McCormick) – Or homemade spices for a quick seasoning.
  4. 24 ounces Manwich Original Sloppy Joe Sauce – Or homemade sauce for the classic tangy flavor.
  5. 2 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese – For a gooey, cheesy topping.
  6. Fresh Parsley (optional) – For garnish and a touch of color.

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  • Line a baking sheet with tinfoil and place frozen Texas Toast slices evenly apart.
  • Bake the Texas Toast according to the box instructions.
  • While the toast is baking, brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Once the beef is about 90% cooked, drain the excess grease into a heat-safe container.
  • Add the Sloppy Joe seasoning and continue cooking the beef until fully cooked.
  • Pour in the Sloppy Joe Sauce, stir, and cook for about 5 minutes until the mixture is thick and well combined.
  • Top the Texas Toast slices evenly with the meat mixture.
  • Add about 1/4 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese to each slice of toast.
  • Return the toast to the oven and bake for another 5 minutes until the cheese is melted and beginning to brown.
  • Remove from the oven and plate using a spatula. Garnish with fresh parsley just before serving.

Notes

  • You can use homemade sloppy joe mix and sauce for a more personalized flavor.
  • Adjust the amount of mozzarella cheese based on your preference for cheesiness.
  • Fresh parsley is optional but adds a lovely touch of freshness and color to the dish.
