Ingredients

Scale
  1. For the Chicken Skillet:

    1. 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
    2. 2 tbsp butter
    3. 1 tbsp olive oil
    4. 1 small onion, diced
    5. 2 cloves garlic, minced
    6. 1 tsp smoked paprika
    7. 1/2 tsp onion powder
    8. 1/2 tsp garlic powder
    9. 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
    10. 1/4 tsp black pepper
    11. 1 cup heavy cream
    12. 1/2 cup chicken broth
    13. 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
    14. 1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
    15. 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
    16. 1 tsp Dijon mustard
    17. 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
    18. 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Instructions

  • Heat the Skillet: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter with olive oil.
  • Cook the Chicken: Add chicken pieces and cook for 5-7 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • Sauté the Aromatics: In the same skillet, add the diced onion and cook until softened. Stir in garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
  • Make the Sauce: Reduce heat to low and add smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard. Stir well.
  • Add Liquids: Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring constantly. Simmer for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.
  • Melt the Cheese: Stir in cheddar and Parmesan cheese until smooth.
  • Combine & Serve: Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and stir to coat. Simmer for another 2-3 minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley and red pepper flakes if desired.

  • Serve: Serve hot with mashed potatoes, rice, or crusty bread.

Notes

  • Adjust the seasoning and heat by adding more Worcestershire sauce or red pepper flakes based on your preference.

  • This dish pairs beautifully with mashed potatoes, rice, or crusty bread to soak up the creamy sauce.
