Description

These Tender Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Steak Bites are melt-in-your-mouth delicious, coated in a sticky-sweet garlic sauce with hints of soy and ginger. Set it and forget it for a comforting, protein-packed dish perfect over rice or veggies.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • ½ cup honey
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish
  • Chopped green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger.
  2. Place steak bites in the slow cooker. Pour the sauce over the meat and stir to coat evenly.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 4–6 hours or high for 2–3 hours, until steak is tender.
  4. If a thicker sauce is desired, mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 2 tablespoons water. Stir into the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
  5. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Serve hot over rice, noodles, or steamed vegetables.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
  • Works well with flank steak or ribeye as alternatives to sirloin.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
