Ingredients

Scale
  1. 1 lb ground beef (preferably lean) – The base for your savory filling.
  2. 1 oz packet taco seasoning (premium brand) – Adds bold taco flavor to the beef.
  3. 1 can (10 oz) diced tomatoes and green chiles, undrained – Adds tang and spice.
  4. 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (preferably aged) – Rich and flavorful cheese for melting.
  5. 8 oz bottle premium Ranch dressing – Creamy and tangy dressing to bind everything together.
  6. 5 packs (15-count) frozen phyllo tart shells – The crispy vessel for your filling.

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cook Beef: In a skillet, brown the ground beef until fully cooked and no longer pink. Drain any excess fat.
  • Add Seasoning: Stir in the taco seasoning, then add the can of diced tomatoes and green chiles (undrained). Mix well and simmer for 5 minutes before removing from heat.
  • Prepare Mixture: In a separate bowl, mix together the shredded cheddar cheese and Ranch dressing. Then, combine this with the cooked taco meat.
  • Assemble Tarts: Carefully spoon the taco meat mixture into the frozen phyllo tart shells. If you plan to freeze them for later, do so at this stage.
  • Bake: Place the filled tarts in the oven and bake for 8-10 minutes. If baking from frozen, add an extra 2-3 minutes to ensure they heat through properly.

Notes

  • Freezing Tip: These can be prepared in advance and frozen before baking. When ready to serve, simply bake from frozen, adding a couple of extra minutes to the baking time.
  • Serving Suggestions: Serve with a side of sour cream or salsa for extra flavor.
