Description

This creamy and comforting Swiss Chicken Casserole is an easy dinner idea that’s packed with flavor! Featuring tender chicken breasts, Swiss cheese, and a savory stuffing topping, it’s a guaranteed crowd-pleaser. Perfect for family dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  2. ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
  3. ¼ teaspoon salt
  4. ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  5. 12 slices Swiss cheese
  6. 10.5 ounce can cream of chicken soup
  7. 1 cup chicken broth
  8. 2 garlic cloves, minced
  9. ½ cup melted butter
  10. 8 ounce package Stove Top stuffing mix
  11. 1 teaspoon fresh minced parsley (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and coat a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, and minced garlic. Stir until well combined.
  • Place the chicken breasts at the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  • Sprinkle the grated parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper on top of the chicken, flipping each piece to coat both sides.
  • Cover each piece of chicken with 2 slices of Swiss cheese.
  • Pour the soup mixture over the chicken and cheese, spreading it evenly to cover.
  • Sprinkle the dry Stove Top stuffing mix evenly over the casserole.
  • Drizzle the melted butter over the stuffing.
  • Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, allowing the stuffing to brown and the chicken to reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
  • If desired, sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • To ensure your chicken is fully cooked, use a meat thermometer to confirm it has reached 165°F.
  • If you prefer a crunchier stuffing topping, you can leave the foil off for the first 40 minutes and bake uncovered for the full time.
  • You can substitute the Stove Top stuffing mix with homemade stuffing if desired.
