Description

These Swirled Cinnamon and Sugar Muffins are a perfect balance of sweet and spiced, with a buttery texture and a cinnamon-sugar swirl throughout. Ideal for breakfast, brunch, or a tasty snack, these muffins will be a hit with the whole family

Ingredients

Scale
  1. For the Muffins:
    • 2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
    • 1 tablespoon baking powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1 cup milk
    • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
    • 1 egg
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    For the Cinnamon Swirl:

    • 1/3 cup brown sugar
    • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners or grease with butter.
  • Prepare Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Mix Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  • Make Cinnamon Sugar: In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon to create the cinnamon swirl mixture.
  • Layer the Muffins: Fill each muffin cup halfway with batter. Sprinkle a small amount of cinnamon sugar over the batter. Add another layer of batter to cover the cinnamon sugar.
  • Swirl the Mixture: Use a toothpick to gently swirl the cinnamon sugar mixture into the batter for a marbled effect.
  • Bake: Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Cool: Let the muffins cool for 5 minutes in the tin before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

  • These muffins are best served warm, fresh out of the oven.
  • For an extra sweet touch, drizzle with icing or enjoy with a cup of coffee
