Ingredients
Scale
- 1 packet of rich tea biscuits or Marie biscuits
- 1 can (397g) condensed milk
- 250 ml milk
- 6 egg yolks
- 100 ml coffee
- 2 cartons (200 ml each) heavy cream
- 1 large carton of custard
- Whipped cream (for topping)
Instructions
- Prepare the Creamy Mixture: In a saucepan, combine the condensed milk and egg yolks. Stir well, then add the milk and mix again. Heat over medium, stirring constantly until it begins to boil. Once it reaches a boil, remove it from the heat and set aside.
- Crush the Biscuits: Crush the biscuits, setting aside a few whole ones for decoration and extra biscuit crumbs for topping. Mix the crushed biscuits with the coffee.
- Layer the Pudding: In a serving dish, start by pouring a layer of the creamy mixture. Next, add a layer of the coffee-soaked biscuits, followed by a layer of custard. Repeat the layers until all the ingredients are used up.
- Top and Refrigerate: Top the pudding with whipped cream and sprinkle with the reserved biscuit crumbs. If desired, decorate with a whole biscuit on top. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.
Notes
- Make sure to refrigerate the pudding for at least an hour to get the perfect texture and flavor.
- You can use any biscuits, but rich tea or Marie biscuits are traditional.
- Customize with chocolate shavings or fruit for added flavor and decoration.
- This dessert is ideal for making ahead for a party or family gathering.
