Ingredients

Scale
  1. 1 cup granulated sugar
  2. 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  3. 4 large eggs
  4. 1 cup vegetable oil
  5. 2 cups self-rising flour
  6. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  7. 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  • Prepare the Batter:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar, light brown sugar, eggs, and vegetable oil. Mix until smooth.
Gradually add the self-rising flour, stirring until just incorporated.
    Stir in the vanilla extract.
Fold in the chopped pecans, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  • Bake the Bread:
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Cool and Serve:
Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 15 minutes.
Cut into squares and serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • You can store leftover bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
  • For added flavor, you can substitute the vegetable oil with melted butter.
  • Feel free to add chocolate chips or dried fruits for a twist!
