Ingredients
Scale
- 1 large sourdough bread bowl
- 1/2 lb cooked shrimp, chopped
- 1/2 lb lump crab meat
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Hollow out the bread bowl, leaving a sturdy shell. Set aside the removed bread pieces for dipping.
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, mayonnaise, mozzarella, green onions, garlic, Old Bay seasoning, smoked paprika, and lemon juice.
- Gently fold in the shrimp and crab meat.
- Spoon the mixture into the bread bowl, ensuring it is evenly packed.
- Place the bread bowl on a baking sheet and bake for 20–25 minutes until the filling is bubbly and the top is golden brown.
- Garnish with extra green onions and serve warm with reserved bread pieces, crackers, or vegetables.
Notes
- Make sure to bake the bread bowl long enough for the filling to get bubbly and golden, which adds a delicious texture.
- You can substitute the crab meat with more shrimp if preferred.
- If you don’t have a sourdough bread bowl, any large round bread can be used as a substitute.
