Ingredients

For the Cake Balls:
• 1 box strawberry cake mix (dry mix only)
• 8 oz cream cheese, softened
• 1/2 cup cream cheese chips, roughly chopped

For the Coating:
• 12 oz vanilla melting wafers
• 4 oz pink candy melts
• 4 oz bright pink candy melts

  1. Optional:
    • Sprinkles (for decoration)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Cake Mix:
Prepare the strawberry cake mix according to the package instructions (you’ll only need the dry mix for this recipe, not the liquid ingredients).
  • Make the Cake Balls:
In a large bowl, combine the prepared strawberry cake mix and softened cream cheese. Mix thoroughly until it forms a dough-like consistency. Fold in the chopped cream cheese chips.
  • Shape the Dough Balls:
Using your hands or a cookie scoop, roll the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them onto a lined baking sheet.
  • Melt the Coatings:
In separate bowls, melt the vanilla melting wafers and pink candy melts (you can do this in the microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted and smooth).
  • Dip the Cake Balls:
Take one dough ball and place it on a fork. Dip it fully into the melted vanilla wafers, ensuring the ball is completely coated. Gently tap the fork on the edge of the bowl to remove any excess coating, then place the coated ball back onto the lined baking sheet.
  • Drizzle with Pink Candy Coating:
Once the vanilla coating has set slightly, drizzle the pink candy melts over the coated cake balls using a spoon or by dipping the spoon into the melted pink candy melts. This creates a festive swirl effect.
  • Add Sprinkles (Optional):
If desired, sprinkle colorful or coordinating sprinkles on top of the truffle balls while the coating is still wet.
  • Chill and Serve:
Refrigerate the cake balls for about 30 minutes to allow the coating to fully set. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

For a smoother coating, let each layer of candy coating set slightly before drizzling with the pink candy melts.
• Customize your truffle balls with any color of candy melts and sprinkles for different occasions!
