This Chinese Yam and Beef Stir-Fry is a flavorful, protein-rich dish that combines tender beef with nutritious Chinese yam, garlic, and a savory sauce. It’s an easy and healthy dinner perfect for serving with rice.
Ingredients

1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced

1 lb Chinese yam, peeled and sliced into thin strips

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp oyster sauce

1 tsp cornstarch

½ tsp sugar

¼ tsp black pepper

2 tbsp vegetable oil

2 tbsp chopped green onions (for garnish)
Instructions

Marinate the Beef:
In a bowl, mix beef, soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, sugar, and black pepper. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes. -
Blanch the Yam:
Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add yam slices and blanch for 2-3 minutes until slightly softened. Drain and set aside. -
Stir-Fry:
Heat vegetable oil in a wok or skillet over high heat. Add garlic and stir-fry for a few seconds until fragrant. Add marinated beef and stir-fry until browned and cooked through. -
Add the Yam:
Add the blanched yam and stir-fry for 2-3 more minutes, stirring frequently.

Serve & Enjoy:
Garnish with green onions. Serve hot with steamed rice.

Chinese yam can be found at Asian grocery stores. If unavailable, you can substitute it with regular yam or sweet potato.
