Instructions
- If using a slow cooker, turn it to the lowest heat setting.
- Add all ingredients: American cheese, milk or half-and-half, chopped green chiles or jalapeños, cumin, and chipotle powder (if using).
- Heat and stir occasionally until fully melted and smooth.
- If using a double boiler, heat milk, chiles, and spices over simmering water first.
- Gradually add American cheese, 1-2 slices at a time, stirring until fully incorporated and melted.
- Keep warm until ready to serve. Serve with chips or veggies.
