Description

A deliciously sticky and savory pasta dish featuring Italian sausage, a rich honey garlic sauce, and a touch of heat. This easy skillet recipe is perfect for a weeknight dinner that everyone will love!

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 1 lb Italian sausage (casings removed)
  2. 2 tablespoons olive oil
  3. 4 cloves garlic, minced
  4. 1/4 cup honey
  5. 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  6. 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  7. 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  8. 8 oz pasta (penne or spaghetti)
  9. 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  10. Salt and pepper to taste
  11. 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  • Cook the pasta: Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • Cook the sausage: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the sausage, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, and cook for 5-7 minutes, until browned and cooked through.
  • Add garlic: Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Make the sauce: Stir in the honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes (if using). Let the mixture simmer for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and becomes sticky.
  • Combine with pasta: Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat in the sticky sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Garnish and serve: Garnish with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese, if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Adjust the red pepper flakes to your preferred spice level.
  • For a gluten-free version, substitute the pasta with gluten-free penne or spaghetti.
  • If you don’t have apple cider vinegar, you can substitute with white vinegar or rice vinegar.
