- 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks
- 200g (7 oz) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Cook the Steaks: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat with olive oil. Season the steaks with salt, pepper, and paprika. Sear for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare (or longer if desired). Remove from the skillet and let them rest.
- Sauté the Shrimp: In the same skillet, melt 1 tbsp butter. Add shrimp, Cajun seasoning, and garlic. Cook for 2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
- Make the Creamy Cajun Sauce: Reduce heat to medium, add the remaining butter, and sauté minced garlic for 30 seconds. Pour in beef broth and let it reduce slightly. Add heavy cream, onion powder, paprika, and a squeeze of lemon juice. Simmer for 3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Combine & Serve: Return the shrimp to the sauce, stir well, and spoon the mixture over the resting steaks. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately!
Notes
- You can use any cut of steak you prefer; ribeye or sirloin are great options, but filet mignon also works well.
- If you like it spicier, feel free to add more Cajun seasoning or a dash of hot sauce.
- Make sure to let the steaks rest after cooking to retain their juices.
