Ingredients

Scale
  1. For the Steaks:

    • 4 beef steaks (filet mignon, ribeye, or any cut you prefer, about 1 inch thick)
    • Salt and pepper, to taste
    • 2 tbsp olive oil

    For the Shrimp Scampi:

    • 1 lb shrimp (peeled and deveined)
    • 4 cloves garlic, minced
    • 3 tbsp butter
    • 1/4 cup chicken broth
    • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
    • 1/2 tsp red chili flakes (optional)
    • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
    • Salt and pepper, to taste

    Suggested Accompaniments:

    • Noodles, rice, or mashed potatoes

Instructions

Preparing the Steaks:

  1. Prep the Steaks: Remove steaks from the fridge about 20 minutes before cooking to bring them to room temperature.
  2. Season: Generously season both sides of the steaks with salt and pepper.
  3. Sear: Heat a cast-iron skillet or large pan over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and heat until shimmering.
  4. Cook: Sear the steaks for 3–4 minutes on each side for a medium-rare finish (adjust to your desired doneness). Remove steaks from the pan, tent with aluminum foil, and let rest.

Preparing Shrimp Scampi:

  1. Sauté Shrimp: In the same skillet, melt 1 tbsp of butter over medium heat. Add shrimp and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  2. Make the Sauce: Add minced garlic to the pan and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Deglaze: Pour in chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the pan. Let it simmer for 1 minute.
  4. Finish the Sauce: Add lemon juice, red chili flakes (if using), the remaining butter, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir until the sauce comes together.
  5. Coat the Shrimp: Return the cooked shrimp to the pan and toss them in the sauce. Stir in the chopped parsley.

Serve:

  • Plate the steaks alongside your choice of noodles, rice, or mashed potatoes. Spoon the shrimp scampi and its sauce over the steak or side dish for an irresistible combination.

Enjoy your savory, flavorful steak and shrimp scampi!
