Description

These Star Bread Chips are the perfect festive snack for your holiday gatherings! Made with just a few simple ingredients, these crispy, herb-infused stars are great as an appetizer or as a base for canapés. Easy to make and sure to impress your guests!


Ingredients

Scale
  1. 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
    1 teaspoon rosemary (fresh or dried)
    1 teaspoon oregano (fresh or dried)
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1 loaf sandwich bread (stale is best)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • Combine the olive oil, rosemary, oregano, and salt in a small bowl. Set aside.

  • Place the bread slices on a cutting board. Using a star-shaped cookie cutter, cut two stars out of each slice.

  • Place the star-shaped bread pieces on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

  • Brush both sides of the stars with the herb-infused olive oil mixture.

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, rotating the baking sheet halfway through, until the stars are golden brown and crispy.

 

  • Let them cool completely before serving.


Notes

  • Stale bread works best for this recipe as it crisps up nicely in the oven.

 

  • Customize the herbs based on your preference, such as adding thyme or basil.
