Description

Succulent sirloin steak cubes slow-cooked in a savory blend of soy sauce, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, and spices, resulting in a tender and flavorful dish. Perfect for weeknight dinners!

Ingredients

Scale

2 lbs (900g) sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
1/4 cup beef broth
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Prepare the Steak: Pat the sirloin steak cubes dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

  • Sear the Steak (Optional but Recommended): In a skillet over high heat, add a tablespoon of oil. Sear the steak cubes in batches until browned on the outside but not cooked through.

  • Combine Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, onion powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper until well combined.

  • Slow Cook: Transfer the seared steak cubes to a crockpot. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring all pieces are coated. Cover and cook on LOW for 4-5 hours or HIGH for 2-3 hours, until the steak reaches desired tenderness.

  • Thicken Sauce (Optional): For a thicker sauce, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of cold water. Stir into the crockpot and cook for an additional 15 minutes with the lid off.

  • Serve: Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary before serving over rice, mashed potatoes, or a side of vegetables.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, consider adding a pinch of red pepper flakes to the marinade.
