Description

Delicious Sloppy Joe meatball subs combining juicy meatballs with tangy Manwich sauce, melted mozzarella, and fresh parsley in toasted submarine rolls.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground pork sausage
  • 1/4 cup minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
  • 1 (15-ounce) can Manwich Original Sloppy Joe Sauce
  • 6 submarine rolls
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, ground pork sausage, onion, garlic salt, Italian seasoning, and black pepper.
  2. Shape mixture into meatballs, about 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
  3. Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add meatballs and cook, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides and cooked through.
  4. Pour Manwich sauce over the meatballs and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Toast submarine rolls if desired.
  6. Place meatballs in the rolls, spoon extra sauce over the top, and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

  • To enhance flavor, toast the rolls before assembling the subs.
  • You can substitute mozzarella with cheddar or provolone cheese.
