- 1/2 pound ground beef
- 1/2 pound ground pork sausage
- 1/4 cup minced onion
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
- 1 (15-ounce) can Manwich Original Sloppy Joe Sauce
- 6 submarine rolls
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, ground pork sausage, onion, garlic salt, Italian seasoning, and black pepper.
- Shape mixture into meatballs, about 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
- Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add meatballs and cook, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides and cooked through.
- Pour Manwich sauce over the meatballs and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Toast submarine rolls if desired.
- Place meatballs in the rolls, spoon extra sauce over the top, and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
Notes
- To enhance flavor, toast the rolls before assembling the subs.
- You can substitute mozzarella with cheddar or provolone cheese.
- Leftover meatballs can be refrigerated and reheated for a quick meal.
