Description

Philly Steak Cheese Fries combine crispy waffle fries with tender steak, sautéed onions and peppers, and melty white American cheese for an indulgent appetizer or meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 810 White American cheese slices
  • 20 oz bag McCain Quick Cook Waffle Cut Fries
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat, heat olive oil. Add steak, season with garlic salt and black pepper, and cook until browned. Remove steak and set aside.
  3. Reserve 1 tbsp of drippings in the skillet. Add bell pepper and onion, and cook until tender but still crisp. Remove and set aside.
  4. Layer waffle fries in the skillet, then top with 4 slices of cheese. Add steak and vegetables.
  5. Repeat layers and top with remaining cheese.
  6. Bake for 8–10 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Let cool slightly, then serve hot.

Notes

  • Use ribeye or sirloin steak for best flavor.
  • Substitute waffle fries with crinkle or regular fries if needed.
  • Adjust cheese quantity to preference.
