Shortcut Cherry Danish is a quick and delicious pastry made with crescent dough, cream cheese, and cherry pie filling, topped with a sweet glaze. Perfect for breakfast or a sweet treat!

- 1 (8-ounce) tube crescent dough sheet
- 4 ounces reduced-fat cream cheese
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract, divided
- 1/2 cup cherry pie filling
- 1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar
- 3 tablespoons milk (or as needed)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, white sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth.
- Roll out the crescent dough and cut into rectangles or squares.
- Spoon a little cream cheese mixture into the center of each piece, then top with cherry pie filling.
- Fold edges slightly inward if desired and place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until golden brown.
- While baking, whisk together confectioners’ sugar, remaining 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, and milk to make a glaze.
- Drizzle glaze over danishes once slightly cooled and serve.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use full-fat cream cheese.
- Feel free to use other fruit pie fillings like blueberry or apple if you prefer.
- The glaze can be adjusted to your desired consistency by adding more milk if needed.
