Description

A must-try Filipino classic that’s perfect for any meal! This flavorful Beef Tapa is marinated overnight to bring out the savory taste, and fried to perfection. Pair it with garlic rice and fried eggs for a traditional Filipino breakfast!

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 500g beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  2. 4 tbsp soy sauce
  3. 1 tbsp sugar
  4. 4 cloves garlic, minced
  5. 1 tsp black pepper
  6. 3 tbsp vinegar
  7. Cooking oil for frying

Instructions

  • Marinate: In a bowl, mix the beef with soy sauce, sugar, garlic, black pepper, and vinegar. Chill overnight in the refrigerator to let the flavors meld.
  • Fry: Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Fry the marinated beef until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Serve: Serve the Beef Tapa with garlic rice and a side of fried eggs for a complete Filipino breakfast.

Notes

  • For best results, marinate the beef for at least 12 hours or overnight.
  • You can adjust the sweetness and saltiness by adjusting the sugar and soy sauce proportions to taste.
  • Serve with pickled vegetables or atchara to balance the savory flavors.
