Description

This Sausage Nduja Pasta is a flavorful, spicy, and creamy dish, combining Italian sausage, rich nduja sausage, and a creamy tomato sauce. Perfect for spice lovers, this pasta is guaranteed to satisfy your cravings!

Ingredients

Scale
  1. For the Pasta:

    • 12 oz pasta (rigatoni, penne, or spaghetti)
    • 8 oz Italian sausage, crumbled
    • 2 tbsp ‘nduja (spicy spreadable pork sausage)
    • 1 small onion, finely chopped
    • 3 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
    • 1/2 cup heavy cream
    • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
    • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
    • 2 tbsp olive oil
    • Salt and black pepper, to taste
    • Fresh basil or parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  • Cook Pasta: Cook pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain.
  • Sauté Onion and Garlic: In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté onion and garlic until soft.
  • Cook Sausage and Nduja: Add Italian sausage and cook until browned. Stir in ‘nduja and cook for 2 more minutes.
  • Add Tomatoes and Simmer: Pour in crushed tomatoes, season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Add Cream and Cheese: Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese, then add cooked pasta and mix well. If needed, add reserved pasta water for a silkier sauce.

  • Garnish and Serve: Garnish with fresh basil or parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • You can use any pasta you prefer for this recipe, but rigatoni or penne works best for holding the sauce.
  • Adjust the level of spiciness by adding more or less ‘nduja, depending on your taste.

  • If you prefer a less creamy sauce, reduce the amount of heavy cream.
