Ingredients

Scale
  1. For the Chicken Wings:
    • 2 pounds chicken wings*, cut into drumsticks and flats
    • 1/2 cup pineapple juice
    • 1/4 cup soy sauce
    • 1/4 cup brown sugar
    • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
    • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
    • Salt and pepper, to taste
    • 1/4 cup pineapple slice (for garnish)

    For the Pineapple Glaze:

    • 1/2 cup pineapple juice
    • 1/4 cup honey
    • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Make Marinade: In a large bowl, whisk together pineapple juice, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil.
  • Marinate Wings: Add the chicken wings to the marinade and toss to coat. Marinate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
  • Prepare Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray with vegetable oil.
  • Bake Wings: Remove the wings from the marinade, letting excess liquid drip off. Place wings on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until cooked through.
  • Make Pineapple Glaze: While the wings bake, prepare the pineapple glaze. In a saucepan, combine pineapple juice, honey, and soy sauce. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat and simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until thickened.
  • Glaze Wings: After 30 minutes, brush the wings with the pineapple glaze and return them to the oven for an additional 5-10 minutes.
  • Garnish & Serve: Garnish with a pineapple slice and serve immediately!

Notes

  • Make ahead: You can marinate the chicken overnight for deeper flavor.
  • Adjust sweetness: If you prefer a sweeter glaze, add more honey to taste.
  • Spice it up: Add a dash of hot sauce to the glaze for a spicy kick!
