Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F / 45°C)
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour (plus more if needed)
  • 2 cups fresh or canned peaches, diced (drained if canned)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2–3 tablespoons milk (adjust for consistency)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix warm milk and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add sugar, melted butter, eggs, and salt. Stir to combine.
  3. Gradually add flour until a soft dough forms. Knead for about 5–7 minutes.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1–1.5 hours).
  5. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine peaches, brown sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, vanilla, and cornstarch.
  6. Cook the peach filling, stirring gently, until thickened (about 5 minutes). Let cool completely.
  7. Punch down the dough and roll it into a 12×18-inch rectangle on a floured surface.
  8. Spread the softened butter evenly over the dough.
  9. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle over the butter layer.
  10. Spoon the cooled peach filling evenly over the cinnamon-sugar layer.
  11. Roll the dough tightly from the long edge into a log, then slice into 12 equal rolls.
  12. Place rolls in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Cover and let rise for 30–45 minutes.
  13. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  14. While baking, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk to make the glaze.
  15. Spread the glaze over warm rolls before serving.

Notes

  • Use ripe fresh peaches for best flavor, but canned works well in a pinch.
  • Ensure the peach filling is completely cool before spreading to avoid soggy dough.
  • For extra indulgence, sprinkle chopped pecans or drizzle with caramel sauce.
  • Rolls can be prepared the night before and baked fresh in the morning.
