A simple, hearty, and delicious one-pan dish that combines smoked sausage, pasta, and creamy garlic herb cheese. This quick and easy recipe is perfect for a busy weeknight dinner!

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 2 smoked sausages, sliced
  2. 1 onion, chopped
  3. 2 tbsp oil (for sautéing)
  4. 2 tbsp minced garlic
  5. 1/2 stick butter (1/4 cup)
  6. 12 oz pasta (any variety)
  7. 32 oz low sodium chicken broth
  8. 4 oz garlic and herb cheese spread (like Alouette)
  9. 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • Sauté Sausage and Onion:
Slice the smoked sausages and chop the onion. Heat oil in a pan and sauté the sausage and onion over medium heat until browned.

  • Add Garlic:
Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute, stirring until fragrant.

  • Add Butter and Pasta:
Add 1/2 stick of butter to the pan and let it melt. Stir in the pasta and toss it to coat with the butter.

  • Add Broth and Boil:
Pour in the 32 oz of chicken broth. Cover the pan and let it come to a boil, stirring occasionally. Cook for 7-8 minutes or until the pasta is tender and much of the liquid has been absorbed.

  • Add Cheese:
Once the pasta is cooked, add the garlic and herb cheese spread and let it melt into the pasta. Then, stir in the shredded Parmesan cheese until fully melted and creamy.

  • Serve:
Once everything is well combined and creamy, serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can use any type of pasta you prefer (spaghetti, penne, etc.) depending on what you have on hand.
  • Adjust the amount of garlic and cheese to suit your taste preferences.
  • For extra flavor, consider adding some red pepper flakes for a little heat.
