Description

Mom’s Famous Cream Puffs are a deliciously light and airy pastry filled with a creamy, vanilla pudding filling. Perfect for any special occasion or just as a treat, these cream puffs are sure to be a crowd-pleaser with their delicate texture and sweet, creamy center.


Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter (8 Tablespoons)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 pint heavy cream
  • 1 package (3.4 ounces) instant vanilla pudding
  • ⅓ cup milk

Instructions

  1. Bring the butter, water, and vanilla to a boil in a pot.
  2. Add the flour and stir constantly until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pot.
  3. Remove the pot from heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly.
  4. Beat in the 4 eggs one at a time until the mixture is smooth and fully incorporated.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto parchment-lined cookie sheets.
  6. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Allow the puffs to cool completely.
  8. Slice each puff in half and pipe or scoop in the prepared filling.
  9. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • Make sure to cool the dough slightly before adding the eggs to prevent cooking the eggs too quickly.
