- 1 stick butter (8 Tablespoons)
- 1 cup water
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup flour
- 1 pint heavy cream
- 1 package (3.4 ounces) instant vanilla pudding
- ⅓ cup milk
Instructions
- Bring the butter, water, and vanilla to a boil in a pot.
- Add the flour and stir constantly until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pot.
- Remove the pot from heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly.
- Beat in the 4 eggs one at a time until the mixture is smooth and fully incorporated.
- Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto parchment-lined cookie sheets.
- Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Allow the puffs to cool completely.
- Slice each puff in half and pipe or scoop in the prepared filling.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- Make sure to cool the dough slightly before adding the eggs to prevent cooking the eggs too quickly.
- The cream puffs can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
- For best results, fill the cream puffs just before serving to keep them fresh.
