Ingredients

  1. Frozen Cheese Ravioli: 24-30 ounces (depending on layers)
  2. Ground Beef or Sausage: 1 pound (cooked and drained)
  3. Ricotta Cheese: 1 cup
  4. Sour Cream: 1/2 cup
  5. Cream Cheese: 4 ounces (softened)
  6. Mozzarella Cheese: 2 cups (shredded)
  7. Parmesan Cheese: 1/2 cup (grated)
  8. Spaghetti Sauce: 24 ounces (your choice of brand or homemade)
  9. Garlic Powder: 1 tsp
  10. Onion Powder: 1 tsp
  11. Italian Seasoning: 1 tbsp
  12. Butter: A few tablespoons (to dot on top before baking)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Prepare the meat: In a skillet, brown the ground beef or sausage until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat and season with garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning.
  • Mix the cheeses: In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, sour cream, cream cheese, and half of the shredded mozzarella. Blend until smooth.
  • Layer the casserole: Spread a thin layer of spaghetti sauce at the bottom of a baking dish. Place a layer of frozen ravioli over the sauce. Add a layer of the meat mixture, then spread a layer of the cheese mixture. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, ending with a layer of ravioli.
  • Top and bake: Pour the remaining spaghetti sauce over the top layer of ravioli. Sprinkle with the remaining mozzarella and grated Parmesan. Dot the top with butter. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

  • Rest and serve: Let the casserole sit for about 10 minutes after removing it from the oven to allow it to set for easier serving.

Notes

  • You can use a variety of meats, such as Italian sausage or ground turkey, to suit your taste.
  • For a richer flavor, feel free to add extra herbs or a sprinkle of crushed red pepper flakes for some heat.

  • This casserole can be prepared in advance and baked later for convenience.
