- ⅔ cup milk or half-and-half
- 3–4 tablespoons canned, chopped green chiles or jalapeños
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon chipotle powder (optional)
Instructions
- Slow Cooker Method:
- Turn the slow cooker to the lowest setting.
- Add all ingredients (cheese, milk, chiles, cumin, chipotle powder) to the slow cooker.
- Stir occasionally until the cheese is melted and the dip thickens.
- Double Boiler Method:
- In a double boiler, heat the milk, chopped chiles, and spices over medium heat.
- Gradually add the American cheese slices, 1-2 slices at a time, stirring constantly until fully melted and smooth.
Notes
- Adjust the level of heat by varying the amount of jalapeños or chipotle powder.
- You can substitute half-and-half for a richer, creamier dip.
- This dip is great for dipping tortilla chips, veggies, or pouring over tacos and nachos.
