Description

This Meaty Texas Trash Dip is a cheesy, savory, and hearty dip loaded with ground beef or sausage, cream cheese, sour cream, and a mix of shredded cheeses. Topped with spicy Rotel and jalapeños, it’s a crowd-pleasing dip for game day or any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef or ground sausage
  • 2 packs (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Pepper Jack cheese
  • 1 can (10 oz) Rotel diced tomatoes with green chilies, drained
  • 1/2 cup diced green onions
  • 1/2 cup diced jalapeños (optional, for extra heat)
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Tortilla chips or crackers for dipping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or sausage until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise until smooth.
  4. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, Pepper Jack cheese, Rotel, diced green onions, and jalapeños (if using).
  5. Season the mixture with taco seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper to taste.
  6. Fold in the cooked ground beef or sausage, mixing until everything is well combined.
  7. Spread the mixture evenly into a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until bubbly and golden on top.
  9. Serve warm with tortilla chips, crackers, or veggie sticks for dipping.

Notes

  • For a spicier dip, leave the jalapeños in or add more to taste.
  • If you prefer a milder dip, omit the jalapeños and use regular cheddar cheese instead of Pepper Jack.
  • This dip can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator. Just bake before serving.
  • Perfect for parties, game days, or any gathering that calls for a hearty, cheesy dip.
