- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 lb breakfast sausage

- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together buttermilk, milk, eggs, and melted butter.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed. Do not overmix.

- Fill the muffin tin halfway with batter, place a sausage patty and a slice of cheese in each, then top with the remaining batter.
- Bake for 18–20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Drizzle with maple syrup before serving. Enjoy your delicious homemade McGriddle muffins!
Notes
- If you prefer a spicier flavor, you can use spicy sausage instead of regular breakfast sausage.
- Feel free to substitute the American cheese with cheddar or any cheese of your choice.
- For a lighter option, you can replace the buttermilk with a lower-fat version or milk alternative.
- Ensure not to overmix the batter, as it can make the muffins dense.
