Ingredients
Scale
Base Ingredients
- 2¼ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 cups butterscotch baking chips
- ¾ cup creamy peanut butter (not natural)
- 4 cups mini marshmallows
Flavorings and Mix-ins
- 1 teaspoon maple extract
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1½ cups red M&M candies
Instructions
Melt the Base
- In a large saucepan over low heat, melt together the semi-sweet chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, and peanut butter, stirring frequently until smooth and combined.
Add Marshmallows and Maple
- Remove the pan from heat and stir in the mini marshmallows, maple extract, and maple syrup until evenly mixed.
Mix in M&Ms and Set
- Fold in most of the red M&M candies, reserving some to sprinkle on top.
- Press the mixture evenly into a greased or parchment-lined baking pan.
- Sprinkle the reserved M&Ms on top and gently press them into the surface.
- Allow the bars to cool completely until set, then cut into squares and serve.
Notes
- Use creamy peanut butter for the best melting texture; natural peanut butter tends to separate.
- For a festive touch, choose red M&Ms or mix in holiday colors.
- Store bars in an airtight container at room temperature or in the fridge for longer freshness.
