Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8×8 baking dish or line with parchment paper.
- Boil maple syrup for 10 minutes until about ¼ cup evaporates. Let cool.
- In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter, egg, vanilla, and brown sugar.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Alternate adding the flour mixture and cooled maple syrup to the wet ingredients, mixing gently until combined.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
