Ingredients
Scale
French Fries
- 28–32 oz frozen French fries
- 1½ tsp brown sugar
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp onion powder
- ¼ tsp chili powder
- ¼ tsp paprika
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp pepper
- 4 tbsp ranch dressing (plus more for dipping)
Cheese Sauce
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp flour
- ⅔ cup milk
- 2 cups shredded medium cheddar cheese
Instructions
Instructions
- Cook frozen fries according to package directions until hot and crispy.
- While fries are cooking, combine brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
- Once fries are cooked, immediately sprinkle with the seasoning blend and toss to evenly coat.
- In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1–2 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Slowly whisk in milk, stirring constantly, until sauce thickens—about 3–5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in shredded cheddar until completely melted and smooth.
- Drizzle ranch dressing over the seasoned fries, then top generously with warm cheese sauce.
- Serve immediately with extra ranch dressing on the side for dipping.
Notes
- For extra crispy fries, cook them in an air fryer or bake a few minutes longer than directed.
- Want a spicier kick? Add a dash of cayenne or hot sauce to the cheese sauce.
- Use freshly shredded cheddar for a smoother melt and better texture.
- Double the cheese sauce for dipping or loading up nachos and burgers.
